$400 GTA VI Vice City Collection Doesn't Even Come With The Game

Key Takeaways

• The GTA VI Vice City Collection costs $399.99 but doesn’t include a copy of the game.
• The collection features Vice City-inspired memorabilia, including sunglasses, stickers, and a cap.
• This is not the first time Rockstar has released a collector’s edition without the game, as they did the same with Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018.
• The decision to not include a physical disc with the game has received backlash from gamers.
• The GTA VI Vice City Collection is aimed at affluent gamers who want to purchase memorabilia.

What’s Included in the GTA VI Vice City Collection?

The GTA VI Vice City Collection is a deluxe compilation of collectibles, including an Oakley sunglasses, stickers, pins, a map of Leonida, a cap, a bobblehead of a Vice City mascot, a shot glass, and a crossbody bag.

While the value of the goods contained in the pack can be argued, there’s no question that Rockstar is clearly pandering to a more affluent gamer.

Why Doesn’t the GTA VI Vice City Collection Come With the Game?

In August, it was announced that GTA VI would be the first high-profile AAA game to go digital only, with no physical disc release.

This decision received backlash from gamers, with Rockstar CEO Strauss Zelnick defending the move by saying that discs “don’t really make sense for the consumer.”

How Does This Compare to Other Collector’s Editions?

This is not the first time Rockstar has released a collector’s edition without the game.

In 2018, they released a Collector’s Box for Red Dead Redemption 2 that also didn’t ship with a copy of the game.

However, the Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box was less than a quarter of the price of the GTA VI Vice City Collection.

What Does This Mean for Gamers?

The decision to not include a physical disc with the game may be a sign of the times, as more gamers turn to digital downloads.

However, for some gamers, the lack of a physical disc may be a deal-breaker.

Is the GTA VI Vice City Collection Worth the Price?

While the value of the goods contained in the pack can be argued, the price of $399.99 may be steep for some gamers.

Ultimately, whether or not the GTA VI Vice City Collection is worth the price will depend on the individual gamer’s preferences.
